Wearing Cloths البسوا ثياب القطن فإنه لباس رسول الله ص و لم يكن يلبس الصوف و لا الشعر إلا من علة Wear cotton clothes, for it is the Prophet’s dress. Prophet -saww never used any other fabric, i.e., wool or hairy (i.e., camel hair) unless these were prescribed as medicine.
[1] إن الله ليحب الجمال و أن يرى أثر نعمته على عبده Allah -azwj Loves beauty and Loves to see the traces of His Grace on the servants. [2] و لا تلبسوا السواد فإنه لباس فرعون Do not dress in black, as it was the preferred outfit of Pharaoh. [3] Wearing Black Clothing for Aza عن الحسن بن طريف بن ناصح، عن أبيه، عن الحسين بن زيد، عن عمر بن على بن الحسين، قال: لما قتل الحسين بن على (ع) لبسن نساء بنى هاشم السواد والمسوح وكن لا يتشتكين من حر ولا برد وكان على بن الحسين (ع) يعمل لهن الطعام للمأتم.
From him, from Al Hassan Bin Tareyf Bin Nasih, from his father, from Al Husayn Bin Zayd, from Umar Bin Ali Bin Al Husayn who said, ‘When Al-Husayn -asws Bin Ali -asws was martyred, the womenfolk of the Clan of Hashim -as wore black and coarse clothes, and they became such that they neither complained of the heat nor the cold. And Ali -asws Bin Al-Husayn -asws worked for them upon the (preparation of the) food for the mourning (sessions)’.
[4] عليكم بالصفيق من الثياب فإنه من رق ثوبه رق دينه Wear thick clothes , because the religion of those who wear soft clothes will be weak. تشمير الثياب طهور للصلاة قال الله تعالى وَ ثِيابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ أي فشمر To tuck up the clothes is purity for offering the prayers.
