[6] \n The Word \u2018Rab\u2019: \n Coming back to our topic of \u2018Rab and Rabubiya\u2019, after establishing that we cannot think about Allah -azwj \u2019s Self but only about His -azwj attributes, His -azwj bounties, His -azwj great creations, we can now look at the meanings of the words \u2018Rab and Rabubiya\u2019.

\n The word \u2018Rab\u2019 is an adjective meaning the one with \u2018upper hand\u2019, the owner (see for example, Arabic dictionary al-Munjid) [7] , as we will see from various Verses of Holy Quran (Appendix II) as explained by the traditions of Masomeen -asws , the word \u2018Rab\u2019 has also been used for those who have had held these qualities, the ownership, master ship, leadership.

\u00a0The word \u2018Rab\u2019 has also been used in the form of \u2018Ism\u2019 (noun) for Allah -azwj in several Verses of Holy Quran.

\n The Word \u2018Rabubiya\u2019: \n The noun of the word \u2018Rab\u2019, when used as an adjective, is \u2018Rabubiya\u2019 which refers to an \u2018Entity\u2019, which cannot be anyone but Allah -azwj , this is the reason we have been asked in several traditions of Masomeen -asws to refrain from ascribing the word \u2018Rabubiya\u2019 to them -asws .\u00a0 In a long tradition, Imam Ali Reza -asws has explained the meanings of the word \u2018Rabubiya\u2019: \n \u0644\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0645\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0646\u064e\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0631\u0651\u064f\u0628\u064f\u0648\u0628\u0650\u064a\u0651\u064e\u0629\u0650 \u0625\u0650\u0630\u0652 \u0644\u064e\u0627 \u0645\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0628\u064f\u0648\u0628\u064c [8] \n The meaning of the \u2018Rabubiya\u2019 is: The \u2018One\u2019 who has no other sustainer(s)\u2019 (see Appendix IV).
