Bibi Fizza rzat took four pieces of bread and also added her bread and gave those to the poor man. They -asws all broke their fast with water and went back to sleep after prayers. The next day, Bibi Fatima Zahra -asws spun another kilo of wool. So she separated one kilo of barley, ground it into flour and prepared five loaves of bread.

As they -asws were ready to break their -asws fast, once again, a voice called out from the door: “O people of the house of The Prophet, I am an orphan, I am hungry, would you please feed me?” Upon listening to this, Imam Ali -asws , Bibi Fatima Zahra -asws , Imam Hassan -asws and Hussain -asws and Bibi Fizza -asws all gave away their loaves of bread to the caller. They -asws all, once again, broke their fast by water and got-up next morning and started fast with water.

On the third day, Bibi Fatima Zahra -asws spun the rest of the wool, took the remaining barley, ground it into flour and prepared five loaves. As they -asws were ready to break the fast, a voice called from the door saying: “O people of the house of the Prophet, I am a prisoner, I am hungry, could you please feed me?” Hearing this, once again, Imam Ali -asws and the rest of the family, including Bibi Fizza -asws donated their -asws bread to the prisoner at the door.

Every time the person at the door would want to express his gratitude for the kindness, Bibi Fizza would say, as per the following Verses in Quran: وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَى حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا (76:8) إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنْكُمْ جَزَاءً وَلَا شُكُورًا (76:9) We are only feeding you for ‘Wajjullah’s sake. [68] We want no reward form you nor any thanks (76:9).

When Prophet Mohammed -saww came to see Imam Hassan -asws and Hussain -asws and found out they were extremely weak after spending three-days without food. . Bibi Fatima Zahra -asws told him -saww what had been going on in the family. At that time the archangel Gabriel came down with a gift of Allah -azwj . That gift was the verses, including the above as well as the following: وَجَزَاهُمْ بِمَا صَبَرُوا جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا (76:12) And reward them, because they were patient, with garden and silk.

(76:12) The lesson for us is, if we ever face difficulties, i.e., illness, out of work, we should offer a Nazar.
