Ahadith denouncing some of the prevailing Innovations: وَ أَمَّا الَّتِي مِنْ أَخْلَاقِ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ فَالْجُلَاهِقُ وَ هُوَ الْبُنْدُقُ وَ الْخَذْفُ وَ مَضْغُ الْعِلْكِ وَ إِرْخَاءُ الْإِزَارِ خُيَلَاءَ وَ حَلُّ الْأَزْرَارِ مِنَ الْقَبَاءِ وَ الْقَمِيصِ. (I heard Ali -asws saying: In a lengthy Hadith) And as for which are from manners of the people of (Prophet) Lut -as – were dragging the trouser, and loosening the trouser from the cloak and the shirt’’ (letting trouser drag on the floor).
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, form Ibn Mahboub, from Hisham Bin Salim, from Abu Baseer, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far -asws that the Prophet -saww advised a man from the Clan of Tameem so he -saww said to him: ‘Beware of letting the trousers and the shirt to drag, for that is from the fancifulness and Allah -azwj does not Love the fanciful’ .
[2] لا تتخذوا الملسن فإنه حذاء فرعون (Amir ul-Momineen -asws said in a lengthy Hadith): Do not take to the pointed (shoes) for it is a shoe of Pharaoh -la , and he -la was the first one to wear the pointed shoes.
(The book) ‘Qurb Al Asnaad’ – from them, from Hanan, ‘From Al-Sadiq -asws having said: ‘The Prophet -saww said to Ali -asws : ‘Beware of wearing the ring of gold, for it is (to be) your ornament in the Paradise, and beware of wearing the orange (priestly clothes) , and beware of riding on the red (silk & brocade material for saddling), for is it from the saddles of Satan -la ’’.
