And as for the Sunnah from His -azwj Prophet -saww ...
And as for the Sunnah from His -azwj Prophet -saww , so it is the politeness with the people, for Allah -azwj Mighty and Majestic Commanded His -azwj Prophet -saww with being polite with the people, so He -azwj Said [7:199] Take to Forgiveness and enjoin good and turn aside from the ignorant . And as for the Sunnah of His -azwj Guardian ‑asws , so it is the patience during the destitution and the adversities’.
[12] One Must not oppose a Sunnah: وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ مَنْ خَالَفَ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَ سُنَّةَ مُحَمَّدٍ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فَقَدْ كَفَرَ . And by this chain, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from one of his companions who said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah -asws saying: ‘The one who opposes the Book of Allah -azwj and the Sunnah of Muhammad -saww , so he has disbelieved’.
[13] قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ وَ إِنْ كُنْتُ أَقْوَى عَلَى أَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا يُعَذِّبُنِي اللَّهُ عَلَى كَثْرَةِ الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ لَا وَ لَكِنْ يُعَذِّبُ عَلَى تَرْكِ السُّنَّةِ . (In a lengthy Hadith, the narrator says, he asked from Imam Jafar e Sadiq -asws ): I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for you -asws ! And if I was strong enough upon more than this, would Allah -azwj Punish me upon the more Salāts ?’ So he -asws said: ‘No, but He -azwj would Punish upon neglecting the Sunnah’ (An extract).
[14] All what is required is in the Book and in the Sunnah: We have no excuse, as all that which we need to know for acting upon the Sunnah are given in the Book and Sunnah: عَلِيٌّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا وَ فِيهِ كِتَابٌ أَوْ سُنَّةٌ .
Ali, from Muhammad Bin Isa, from Yunus, from Hammad, from Abu Abdullah -asws , said, ‘I heard him -asws saying: ‘There is none from the things except that with regards to it -there is (something in the) Book or a Sunnah’.
