فَهَذِهِ شَرِيعَتُهُ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ نُوحٌ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ...

فَهَذِهِ شَرِيعَتُهُ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ نُوحٌ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَاماً يَدْعُوهُمْ سِرّاً وَ عَلَانِيَةً فَلَمَّا أَبَوْا وَ عَتَوْا قَالَ رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانْتَصِرْ فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَ عَزَّ إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لَنْ يُؤْمِنَ مِنْ قَوْمِكَ إِلَّا مَنْ قَدْ آمَنَ فَلا تَبْتَئِسْ بِما كانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ [يَعْمَلُونَ] So this is the Law which Nuh -as remained upon among them for a thousand years except for fifty years (950) calling them secretly and in the open.

So when they refused and rebelled, he -as said to his -as Lord -azwj : ‘I -as have been overcome, so Help!’ So Allah -azwj Revealed unto him -as : “No one else from your -as people are going to believe except for the ones who have already believed, so do not be disheartened at what they have done”.

فَلِذَلِكَ قَالَ نُوحٌ (عليه السلام) وَ لا يَلِدُوا إِلَّا فاجِراً كَفَّاراً فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِلَيْهِ أَنِ اصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ Therefore, due to that reason Nuh -as said: ‘ and they will not beget any except immoral ones, Kafirs [71:27] ’. So Allah -azwj Revealed unto him -as to make the ship’.

[36] شى: عن المفضل بن عمر قال: كنت مع أبي عبد الله عليه السلام بالكوفة أيام قدم على أبي العباس، فلما انتهينا إلى الكناسة فنظر عن يساره ثم قال: يا مفضل ههنا صلب عمي زيد رحمه الله From Al Mufazzal Bin Umar who said, ‘I was with Abu Abdullah -asws in the days he -asws proceeded to Abu Al-Abbas. When we ended up to Al-Kunasa, he -asws said: ‘Over there is where they crucified my -asws uncle Zayd, may Allah -azwj have Mercy upon him’.

ثم مضى حتى أتى طاق الزياتين وهو آخر السراجين فنزل فقال لي: انزل فإن هذا الموضع كان مسجد الكوفة الأول الذي كان خطه آدم عليه السلام وأنا أكره أن أدخله راكبا Then we went until we ended up at the (market) stall of the oilmen, and it was at the end of the two lamps. So he -asws descended and said: ‘Descend, for this is the place where the Masjid Al-Kufa used to be at first which Adam -as had marked, and I -asws do not like that I -asws should enter it riding’.

فقلت له: فمن غيره عن خطته ؟ فقال: أما أول ذلك فالطوفان في زمن نوح ثم غيره بعد أصحاب كسرى والنعمان بن منذر، ثم غيره زياد بن أبي سفيان I said, ‘So who was the other one who had marked it?’ He -asws said: ‘As for the first one, that was the storm during the era of Noah -as . Then others from the companions of Chosroe and Nu’man, and thereafter Ziyad Bin Abu Sufyan’.
