In Islam it is forbidden unless it is already in publicly knowledge and\/or is from a \u2018Biddah\u2019 (heresy – harmful to religion), this norm of society comes under backbiting and Islam considers it as (equating to) eating the flash of one\u2019s brother.\u00a0 However, if the narration is a fabrication, then it would come under \u2018 Bohtan \u2019 (slandering) which is a punishable sin.\u00a0 The backbiter is termed as a \u2018Cheat\u2019!
