[21] \n Imam Abu Abdullah -asws (6 th Imam) narrates: \u2018When they had heard him -saww saying: \u2018Greet unto Ali -asws as \u2018Amir Al-Momineen\u2019, Rasool-Allah -saww said to the first (Abu Bakr): \u2018Stand and greet unto Ali -asws as \u2018Amir Al-Momineen\u2019!\u2019 He said, \u2018Is it (a Command) from Allah -azwj or from Rasool-Allah -saww ?\u2019 He -saww said: \u2018Yes, from Allah -azwj and from His -azwj Rasool -saww \u2019.

\n Then he -saww said to his companion (Umar): \u2018Stand and greet unto Ali -asws as \u2018Amir Al-Momineen\u2019!\u2019 He said, \u2018(Is it) from Allah -azwj or from His -azwj Rasool -saww ?\u2019 He -saww said: \u2018Yes, from Allah -azwj and from His -azwj Rasool -saww \u2019. \n Then he -saww said: \u2018O Miqdad -ra ! Stand and greet unto Ali -asws as \u2018Amir Al-Momineen\u2019!\u2019 But he -ra did not say what his -ra two companions had said.

Then he -saww said: \u2018O Abu Zarr -ra ! Greet unto Ali -asws as \u2018Amir Al-Momineen\u2019!\u2019 He -ra stood and greeted. Then he -saww said: \u2018Stand, O Salman -ra , and greet unto Ali -asws as \u2018Amir Al-Momineen\u2019!\u2019 He -ra stood up and greeted. \n He -asws said: \u2018To the extent that when they (Abu Bakr and Umar) both came out, they were saying, \u2018No, by Allah -azwj !

We will not greet to him -asws as what he -saww has said, ever!\u2019 \n Allah -azwj Blessed and Exalted Revealed unto His -azwj Prophet -saww : and do not be breaking the oaths after its affirmation, and you have already made Allah as a surety upon you.

\u2013 by your words, \u2018Is it from Allah -azwj or from His -azwj Rasool -saww ?\u2019 – Surely, Allah Knows what you are doing [16:91] And do not become like the one who breaks her yarn from after spinning it tightly, taking your oaths as a means of income between you [16:92] \u2013 in order to become imams who are better than your imams\u2019.

\n He (the narrator) said, \u2018I said, \u2018May I be sacrificed for you -asws !\u00a0 But rather, we are reciting: that you could become a community which is more prosperous than (another) community. [16:92] \u2019. \n He -asws said: \u2018\u2018Woe be unto you \u2013 O Zayd \u2013 and what is more? That you could become imams who are better than your Imams.
