Whoever obeys him -saww has obeyed Allah -azwj and one has disobeyed Allah -azwj if he has disobeyed him -saww and peace a great deal. He is the Imam -asws of guidance and the chosen Prophet -asws . I -asws thereafter advise you to become pious before Allah -azwj ; it is the advice from Allah -azwj in the past and bygone. He -asws , then, pronounced them wife and husband.
[37] المرشد (Murshid) in the Meanings of Divine Imam -asws : ُ يَا إِلَهِي أَنَّهُ الْإِمَامُ الْهَادِي الْمُرْشِدُ الرَّشِيدُ عَلِيٌّ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الَّذِي ذَكَرْتَهُ فِي كِتَابِكَ فَقُلْتَ وَ إِنَّهُ فِي أُمِّ الْكِتابِ لَدَيْنا لَعَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ لَا أُشْرِكُ مَعَهُ إِمَاماً Prophet Mohammed -saww said in the Sermon of Ghadeer: O Allah -azwj this is the Imam -asws of Guidance, the true guide, الْمُرْشِدُ الرَّشِيدُ (The True Deliverer/Imam), he is Ali -asws Amir-ul-Momineen -asws the leader of the righteous ones that You -azwj mentioned in Your -azwj Book and I say its the Best of the Books of deliverance and the wise (among men and Jinn) will not do Shrik (polytheism) in his -asws Imamat.
[38] The word ‘ الْمُرْشِدُ ’ Murshid, like other titles of Masomeen -asws , i.e., Moulana, Ayat-ul-Uzma, Imam, Moulana, was unjustly used for non-masoom people. The ‘Peer Sahib/Saeen’ adored the word Murshid for himself, whereas Mujtahids and their associates went for the rest of the titles, i.e., Hujjat-ul- Allah -asws e.g., Imam, Ayat-ul-Uzma; Moulana.
In Sahifa-e-Sajadia, Imam Sajjad -asws says: اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْوَلِيُّ الْمُرْشِدُ وَ الْغَنِيُّ الْمُرْفِدُ وَ الْعَوْنُ الْمُؤَيِّدُ الرَّاحِمُ الْغَفُورُ O Allah -azwj ! You are the Guardian and the ‘الْمُرْشِدُ’ True Deliverer, the Unique Master and the Ultimate and the Most Merciful Sustainer. [39] Also Imam Abu Abd Allah -asws (Imam Jafar-e-Sadiq -asws ) in a Hadith, as reported by Al-Tabrasy in his Ahtijaj supplicate to Allah -azwj as وَ اللَّهُ الْمُرْشِدُ .
