He was the son of Imam ‘Ali ibn Abi Ṭālib (‘a.s), the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet, and Lady Fatimah al-Zahrā’ (‘a.s), the Prophet’s beloved daughter [2] .

According to both Sunni [5] and Shi‘a [6] sources, this verse was revealed specifically about the (PBUHH), Imam ‘Ali (‘a.s), Lady Fatimah (‘a.s), Imam Hasan (‘a.s), and Imam Husain (‘a.s). This is confirmed by the well-known Hadith al-Kisā’ (Tradition of the Cloak).
