Islamic society is responsible for marrying off those who are celibate. Parents who do not marry their offspring are partners in sin that their issues commit. In addition, it is necessary to prepare preliminaries of marriage by giving financial aid if necessary, finding a proper spouse, encouraging others to get married, and finally mediating to solve problems that will not be settled without the intercession of others.
Similarly, while talking about the noble status of marriage in the sight of Almighty Allah, the Holy Prophet (PBUHH) was reported to have said: “‘There is no institution in Islam more beloved and dearer to Allah than marriage [1] . “ Also, he (PBUHH) said: “Marriage is part of my practice [Sunna], and whoever does not follow my Sunna, has nothing to do with me [2] .” And, “Whoever gets married has protected half of his faith.
Then let him fear Allah regarding the second half [3] .” Imam Ali (PBUH) while describing the importance of marriage, said: “The greatest intercession is to try and bring a man and woman together in marriage so that Allah may provide for the means for the establishment of their relationship [4] .” Imam Sadiq (PBUH) said: “Two rak’at of prayers offered by a married individual is better than seventy rak’ats offered by an unmarried individual [5] .” Thus, it is worthy for every Muslim to carry out this divine act as has been ordained by Allah, and not occupy oneself with the wrong customs and traditions, but rather, allow the Islamic culture and lifestyle to prevail in society.
