Apart from this, as mentioned earlier, there are other traditions which explicitly state that the name of 'Ali (A) has not been mentioned in the Qur'an. Al-Nuri cites traditions describing differences of readings, which the Ahl al-Sunnah have narrated in large numbers and have justi­fied them as being in consonance with the tradition that says that the Qur'an was revealed in sab`at ahruf.
