I wish I had died before that day, or I had been one of the forgotten crea- tures."272 Another time she had said: "I swear to God that I wished to be only a tree! I wished to be a stone; I wished God had never brought me into the world!" It is said: At the time of her death she said regretfully: "After the Prophet's decease I have caused some events.
