It might be very difficult for non-believers to accept that I chose Islam and was not forced to or persuaded to by man from Kuwait. My acceptance of Islam was not a prerequisite of our relationships potential future, as some have thought. I did not automatically adhere to anything or believe everything I heard or read. It was a slow process of learning and man from Kuwait was perfect about telling me the right thing at the right time.
