ভূমিকা

إلهِي أَسْكَنْتَنا My God, you have settled us in a dwelling (dunya) which has dug for us in it pits of deception, ILAAHEEE AS-KANTANAA DAARANA H'AFARAT LANAA H'UFARA MAK-RIHAA وَعَلَّقَتْنا بِأَيْدِي الْمَنايا فِي حَبائِلِ غَدْرِها، We have been trapped in this world (Dunya), which deceives us and we cannot escape until we are removed by death WA A'L-LAQ-TANAA BIY-DEEL-MANAAYAA FEE H'ABAAA-ILI GHAD-RIHAA فَإلَيْكَ نَلْتَجِئُ مِنْ مَكآئِدِ خُدَعِها، So In you we seek shelter from the tricks and plans of this world (Dunya), FAALAY-KA NAL-TAJI-U MIM-MAKAAA-IDI KHUDAI'HAA وَبِكَ نَعْتَصِمُ مِنَ الاغْتِرارِ بِزَخارِفِ زِيْنَتِهَا، فَإنَّهَا And to you we hold fast, for fear that we may be deceived by the glitter of its (dunya’s) ornaments!

WA BIKA NAA'-TAS'IMU MINALIGH-TIRAAR BIZAKHAARIFI ZEENATIHAA FA IN-NAHA الْمُهْلِكَةُ طُلاَّبَهَا، It (Dunya)destroys the ones who seeks it AL-MUH-LIKATU T'UL-LAABAHAA الْمُتْلِفَةُ حُلاَّلَهَا، It ruins the ones who try to settle in it AL-MUT-LIFATU H'UL-LAALAHAA الْمَحْشُوَّةُ بِالافاتِ، it is overflowing with problems AL-MAH'-SHOO-WATU BIL-AAAFAATI الْمَشْحُونَةُ بِالنَّكَباتِ. and loaded with calamities.

AL-MASH-H'OONATU BIN-NAKABAAT إلهِي فَزَهِّدْنا فِيها، My God, inspire us to renounce it ILAAHEE FAZAH-HID-NA FEEHAA وَسَلِّمْنا مِنْها بِتَوْفِيقِكَ وَعِصْمَتِكَ، And keep us safe from it by giving success to our good work and by your protecting us from sin.
