And there is no bismillah at the beginning of Surah al-Bara’ah (or at-Tawbah ) because this surah is a declaration of disgust and disavowal for the infidels and polytheists, and this act must not be accompanied by mercy.[^12] It is stated in the hadith that every action, be it writing a single verse of poetry, must begin with bismillah , and that every action that is devoid of His remembrance will not reach its conclusion.[^13] “Al-hamdulillahi rabbi’l-‘alamin” {All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the worlds} Praise and eulogy belong exclusively to God who nourishes all creatures.
