In spite of all this, thirty sahabah , twelve of whom were participants in the Battle of Badr, had heard hadith al-Ghadir from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him and his progeny. There may have been others who hated to testify, such as Anas ibn Malik[^5] and others who received their due punishment in lieu of the prayers of the Commander of the Faithful to Allah to punish those who hid the truth while knowing it.
