Shiavault - a Vault of Shia Islamic Books Ghurar Al-Hikam Wa Durar Al-Kalim, Exalted Aphorisms And Pearls Of Speech To Put [Others] Under Obligation To put [others] under obligation-الْمَنّ والإمتنان Putting someone under obligation blackens the favour. 1ـ اَلْمَنُّ يُسَوِّدُ النِّعْمَةَ. Obligation is the corruptor of good actions. 2ـ اَلْمَنُّ مُفْسِدَةُ الصَّنِيعَةِ. Obligation spoils the favour. 3ـ اَلْمَنُّ يُنَـكِّدُ الإحْسانَ. Obligation corrupts the good act.
4ـ اَلْمَنُّ يُفْسِدُ الصَّنيعَةَ. Obligation corrupts the favour. 5ـ اَلْمَنُّ يُفْسِدُ الإحْسانَ. There is wickedness with obligation. 6ـ اللُّؤْمُ مَعَ الاِمْتِنانِ. Doing acts of kindness along with obligation is vileness. 7ـ اَلتَّكَرُّمُ مَعَ الاِمْتِنانِ لُؤْمٌ. The bane of generosity is obligation. 8ـ آفَةُ السَّخاءِ المَنُّ. Through obligation the favour is spoilt. 9ـ بِالمَنِّ يُكَدَّرُ الإحْسانُ. By putting a lot of obligation, the good action is spoilt.
10ـ بِكَثْرَةِ المَنِّ تُـكَدَّرُ الصَّنيعَةُ. Prolonged obligation spoils the pureness of a good turn. 11ـ طُولُ الاِمْتِنانِ يُكَدِّرُ صَفْوَ الإحْسانِ. One who puts an obligation [on others] by his good action has oppressed magnanimity. 12ـ ظَلَمَ المُرُوءَةَ مَنْ مَنَّ بِصنيعِهِ. The oppression of favours is [through] the repulsiveness of [putting others under] obligation. 13ـ ظُلْمُ الإحْسانِ قُبْحُ الاِمْتِنانِ. Too much obligation spoils the good action.
14ـ كَثْرَةُ المَنِّ تُكَدِّرُ الصَّنيعَةَ. One who puts an obligation [on others] with his kind act drops [and forgoes] his gratitude. 15ـ مَنْ مَنَّ بِمَعْرُوفِهِ أسْقَطَ شُكْرَهُ. One who puts obligation with his goodness has spoilt the good act that he has done. 16ـ مَنْ مَنَّ بِمَعْرُوفِهِ فَقَدْ كَدَّرَ ما صَنَعَهُ. Whoever puts an obligation with his favour, it is as if he has not done a favour. 17ـ مَنْ مَنَّ بِإحْسانِهِ فَكَأنَّهُ لَمْ يُحْسِنْ.
One who puts obligation with his good action corrupts it. 18ـ مَنْ مَنَّ بِمَعْرُوفِهِ أفْسَدَ هُ. Nothing spoils good actions like putting [others under] obligation. 19ـ ما كُدِّرَتِ الصَّنايِـعُ بِمِثْلِ الاِمْتِنانِ. He who puts an obligation [on others] has not made his grant pleasing. 20ـ ما أَهْنَأَ العَطاءَ مَنْ مَنَّ بِهِ. One who puts [others under] obligation with his good act has not perfected it. 21ـ ما أَكْمَلَ المَعْرُوفَ مَنْ مَنَّ بِهِ.
He who puts [others under] a lot of obligation has not made his good turn felicitous. 22ـ ما هَنَّأَ بِمَعْرُوفِهِ مَنْ كَثُرَ اِمْتِنانُهُ.
