Shiavault - a Vault of Shia Islamic Books Ghurar Al-Hikam Wa Durar Al-Kalim, Exalted Aphorisms And Pearls Of Speech Flattery Flattery-المَلَق Beware of flattery, for indeed flattery is not from the characteristics of faith [and the faithful]. 1ـ إيّاكَ والمَلَقَ، فَإنَّ المَلَقَ لَيْسَ مِنْ خَلائِقِ الإيمانِ. Flattery is not part of the character of Prophets. 2ـ لَيْسَ المَلَقُ مِنْ خُلْقِ الأنْبِياءِ. One whose flattery increases, his [sincere] joyfulness is not recognized.
3ـ مَنْ كَثُرَ مَلَقُهُ لَمْ يُعْرَفْ بِشْرُهُ. Verily only the one who does not flatter you [truly] adores you, and [only] one who does not make you hear his praise for you [truly] praises you. 4ـ إنَّما يُحِبُّكَ مَنْ لايَتَمَلَّقُكَ ويُثْني عَلَيْكَ مَنْ لايَسْمَعُكَ. Previous Next
