Then Ali said: “Attack them!” I (Jundub) myself had killed eight persons of them before I offered Dhuhr[^2] Prayer. Less than ten persons from us were killed and less than ten from them escaped death as Ali had predicted. Praise be to Allah.”[^3] 12. Fighting innocent people Abu Bakr ordered to fight the people who had hesitated to pay him the zakat. They did so because they had doubted whether Abu Bakr was the legal guardian after the Prophet (s) or not.
Abu Bakr had gathered the companions to consult with them about fighting those people.
