Al-Kāfi - The Book on Virtue of Knowledge Chapter: Chapter on Those who Act without Knowledge ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ سَ٠ِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠ِلُ عَلَى غَيْرِ بَصِيرَةٍ كَالسَّائِرِ عَلَى غَيْرِ الطَّرِيقِ لا يَزِيدُهُ سُرْعَةُ السَّيْرِ إِلا بُعْداً.

“(Imam) abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) has said, ‘Working without understanding and insight is like travelling in the wrong direction that only takes one farther away from the destination.’” يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi) شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (1/140))
