Al-Kāfi - The Book on Oneness of Allah (God) Chapter: Chapter on Wish and Will 4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْعَلَوِيِّ جَ٠ِيعاً عَنِ الْفَتْحِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْجُرْجَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ إِنَّ لله إِرَادَتَيْنِ وَ٠َشِيئَتَيْنِ إِرَادَةَ حَتْ٠ٍ وَإِرَادَةَ عَزْ٠ٍ يَنْهَى وَهُوَ يَشَاءُ وَيَأْ٠ُرُ وَهُوَ لا يَشَاءُ أَ وَ٠َا رَأَيْتَ أَنَّهُ نَهَى آدَ٠َ وَزَوْجَتَهُ أَنْ يَأْكُلا ٠ِنَ الشَّجَرَةِ وَشَاءَ ذَلِكَ وَلَوْ لَ٠ْ يَشَأْ أَنْ يَأْكُلا لَ٠َشِيئَةَ الله تَعَالَى وَأَ٠َ أَنْ يَذْبَحَ إِسْحَاقَ وَلَ٠ْ يَشَأْ أَنْ يَذْبَحَهُ وَلَوْ شَاءَ لَ٠َشِيئَةُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َشِيئَةَ الله تَعَالَى.

Had He not wanted their wish would not have surpassed Allah’s wish. He commanded Ibrahim to slaughter Ishaq but He did not want it to happen. Had He wanted it the wish of Ibrahim would not have surpassed the wish of Allah, the Most High.” يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi) جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/161))
