Al-Kāfi - The Book on Oneness of Allah (God) Chapter: Chapter on Test and Choice 1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْ٠َّدٍ الطَّيَّارِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠ِنْ قَبْضٍ وَلا بَسْطٍ إِلا وَلله فِيهِ ٠َشِيئَةٌ وَقَضَاءٌ وَابْتِلاءٌ. 1.

It is narrated from Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashim from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman from Hamza ibn al-Tayyar from Imam abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) who has said the following. “There is no expansion or reduction but that Allah therein has a wish, decree and testing.” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/164)) يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi)
