Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: The Issue that the Earth at no time is without a Person with Divine Authority 13ـ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ ٠َّدٍ عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) هَلْ تَبْقَى الارْضُ بِغَيْرِ إِ٠ٍ قَالَ لا قُلْتُ إِنَّا نُرَوَّى أَنَّهَا لا تَبْقَى إِلا أَنْ يَسْخَطَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ قَالَ لا تَبْقَى إِذاً لَسَاخَتْ.

“I asked al-Hassan al-Rida (a.s.), “I can the earth remain without Imam?” The Imam (a.s.) replied, “No, it will not remain so.” I said, “We narrate that it will not remain without the Imam unless Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, becomes angry with the people.” The Imam said, “In such condition it will not remain but it will obliterate its inhabitants.” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/298)) يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi)
