Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: The Imams are Similar to those before them and the Dislikeability of Calling them Prophets 5ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أُذَيْنَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ ٠ُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ وَأَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ ٠َنْ تُشْبِهُونَ ٠َضَى قَالَ صَاحِبُ ٠ُوسَى وَذُو الْقَرْنَيْنِ كَانَا عَالِ٠ْ يَكُونَا نَبِيَّيْنِ.

To who of the people of the past do you resemble?” the Imam (a.s.) said, “I resemble the companion of Moses and Dhul Qarnayn who were two scholars but not two prophets.” يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi) حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (3/158))
