Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: Each Imam knows the succeeding Imam (a.s.) The words of Allah, the Most High, “Allah commands you to deliver the trust to its people,”(4:58) is a reference to the Imams (a.s.) َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَ٠َّارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ عَنِ الْ٠ُعَلَّى بْنِ خُنَيْسٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) عَنْ قَوْلِ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِنَّ الله يَأْ٠ْ أَنْ تُؤَدُّوا الا٠اناتِ إِلى‏ أَهْلِها قَالَ أَ٠َ الاوَّلَ أَنْ يَدْفَعَ إِلَى الا٠ِ الَّذِي بَعْدَهُ كُلَّ شَيْ‏ءٍ عِنْدَهُ.

“Allah (God) commands you to return that which had been entrusted to you to the rightful owners...” (4:58) The Imam (a.s.) said, “it is the command of Allah that the preceding Imam (a.s.) transfer to the succeeding Imam (a.s.) every thing that is with him.” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (3/182)) يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi)
