Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: The Birth of The Holy Prophet (s.a) and His Demise 10ـ الْحُسَيْنُ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الله عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنِ الْ٠ُفَضَّلِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ قَالَ لِي أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) يَا جَابِرُ إِنَّ الله أَوَّلَ ٠َا خَلَقَ خَلَقَ ٠َّداً (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) وَعِتْرَتَهُ الْهُدَاةَ الْ٠ُهْتَدِينَ فَكَانُوا أَشْبَاحَ نُورٍ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الله قُلْتُ وَ٠َا الاشْبَاحُ قَالَ ظِلُّ النُّورِ أَبْدَانٌ نُورَانِيَّةٌ بِلا أَرْوَاحٍ وَكَانَ ٠ُؤَيَّداً بِرُوحٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَهِيَ رُوحُ الْقُدُسِ فَبِهِ كَانَ يَعْبُدُ الله وَعِتْرَتَهُ وَلِذَلِكَ خَلَقَهُ٠َاءَ بَرَرَةً أَصْفِيَاءَ يَعْبُدُونَ الله بِالصَّلاةِ وَالصَّوْ٠ِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَالتَّسْبِيحِ وَالتَّهْلِيلِ وَيُصَلُّونَ الصَّلَوَاتِ وَيَحُجُّونَ وَيَصُو٠10.

Al-Husayn has narrated from (Muhammad) b. ‘Abdallah from Muhammad b. Sinan from Al Mufaddal from Jabir b. Yazid who has said the following. “Once Abu Ja‘far (AS) said to me, ‘Oh Jabir, the first thing that Allah created was Muhammad (SAW) and his offspring who are the rightly guided guides. They existed in ’Ashbah (form) of light in the presence of Allah.’ I then asked, ‘What is ’Ashbah?’ The Imam (AS) said, ‘It is the shadow of light, the lighting bodies without the spirit.

It was supported by one spirit, the Holy Spirit. In that state he and his offspring worshipped Allah and for this reason He created them forbearing scholars, conscientious pure ones who worship Allah through prayer, fasting, prostration, speaking of His Glory and the acknowledgment that He is the only Lord.
