Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: How They Answered While They Were as Small Particles 1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َيْرٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) كَيْفَ أَجَابُوا وَهُ٠ْ ذَرٌّ قَالَ جَعَلَ فِيهِ٠َا إِذَا سَأَلَهُ٠ْ أَجَابُوهُ يَعْنِي فِي الْ٠2.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from certain persons of our people from abu Basir who has said the following: “Once I asked Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) ‘How did they answer when they (offspring of Adam) were small particles?’ The Imam said, ‘Allah placed in them the ability to answer Him when He questioned them at the time of establishing a covenant with them.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (7/36))
