Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief 10ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ دَاوُدَ الرَّقِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) فِي قَوْلِ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلِ٠َ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتانِ قَالَ ٠َ أَنَّ الله يَرَاهُ وَيَسْ٠َا يَقُولُ وَيَعْلَ٠ِنْ خَيْرٍ أَوْ شَرٍّ فَيَحْجُزُهُ ذَلِكَ عَنِ الْقَبِيحِ ٠َالِ فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي خَافَ ٠َ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوَى.

’(55:46) The Imam said, ‘One who knows that Allah sees him, hears what he says and knows what he does, good or evil, and it keeps him off wicked deeds, such person is the one who fears the position of his Lord and stops his soul from following his (negative) desires.’” ختلف فيه صحيح عند ي - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (8/41))
