Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Truthfulness and Trust َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ أَبِي كَهْ٠َسٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) عَبْدُ الله بْنُ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ يُقْرِئُكَ السَّلا٠َ قَالَ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠ُ إِذَا أَتَيْتَ عَبْدَ الله فَأَقْرِئْهُ السَّلا٠َ وَقُلْ لَهُ إِنَّ جَعْفَرَ بْنَ ٠َّدٍ يَقُولُ لَكَ انْظُرْ ٠َا بَلَغَ بِهِ عَلِيٌّ (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) عِنْدَ رَسُولِ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) فَالْزَ٠ْهُ فَإِنَّ عَلِيّاً (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠َا بَلَغَ بِهِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) بِصِدْقِ الْحَدِيثِ وَأَدَاءِ الأ٠5.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Hassan ibn Mahbub from abu Kahmas who has said the following: “Once I said to Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) “Abd Allah ibn abu Ya’fur has sent you ( salam ) greetings.’ The Imam said, ‘May salam (peace) be with you and with him.

If you meet ‘Abd Allah convey salam to him and say, ‘Ja’far, son of Muhammad, says to you, “Consider to what level Ali (Amir al-Mu’minin ibn abu Talib) had reached before the Messenger of Allah. You must follow his manners.

Ali (a.s.) reached the level that he reached before the Messenger of Allah because of the truthfulness in his words and his trustworthiness in returning the trust.’”” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (8/183))
