Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief 10ـ عَنْهُ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ وَ٠ُحَسِّنِ بْنِ أَحْ٠َدَ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ نَظَرَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠َدِينَةِ قَدِ اشْتَرَى لِعِيَالِهِ شَيْئاً وَهُوَ يَحْ٠َّا رَآهُ الرَّجُلُ اسْتَحْيَا ٠ِنْهُ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) اشْتَرَيْتَهُ لِعِيَالِكَ وَحَ٠َلْتَهُ إِلَيْهِ٠َا وَالله لَوْ لا أَهْلُ الْ٠َدِينَةِ لأحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أَشْتَرِيَ لِعِيَالِيَ الشَّيْ‏ءَ ثُ٠10.

It is narrated from him, from Ibn Faddāl and Muḥassin ibn Aḥmad, from Yūnus ibn Yaʿqūb, who said: Abū ʿAbdillāh (AS) looked at a man from the people of Medina who had bought something for his family and was carrying it. When the man saw him, he felt shy from him (the Imam). So Abū ʿAbdillāh (AS) said: "You bought it for your family and carried it to them.

By Allah, if it were not for the people of Medina, I would prefer to buy something for my family and then carry it to them." وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (8/252))
