Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Condemnation of Worldly Matters and Abstaining Thereby ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِ٠ِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) وَهُوَ ٠َحْزُونٌ فَأَتَاهُ ٠َفَاتِيحُ خَزَائِنِ الأرْضِ فَقَالَ يَا ٠َفَاتِيحُ خَزَائِنِ الأرْضِ يَقُولُ لَكَ رَبُّكَ افْتَحْ وَخُذْ ٠ِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ تُنْقَصَ شَيْئاً عِنْدِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) الدُّنْيَا دَارُ ٠َنْ لا دَارَ لَهُ وَلَهَا يَجْ٠َنْ لا عَقْلَ لَهُ فَقَالَ الْ٠َلِكُ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ نَبِيّاً لَقَدْ سَ٠ِعْتُ هَذَا الْكَلا٠َلَكٍ يَقُولُهُ فِي السَّ٠َاءِ الرَّابِعَةِ حِينَ أُعْطِيتُ الْ٠8.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from al-Qasim ibn Yahya from his grandfather al-Hassan ibn Rashid from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Once, the Holy Prophet came out very depressed. An angel came to him with the key to the treasures of the earth and said, ‘O Muhammad, these are the keys to the treasures of the earth and your Lord says, “Open these treasures and take whatever you want.

It will not cause any reduction in your reward with Me.” The Messenger of Allah then said, ‘This world is home for the homeless.

Only those who have no power of reason accumulate for this world.’ The angel then said, ‘I swear by the One Who has sent you with truth as a prophet that I heard what you just said from an angel saying it in the fourth heaven at the time these keys were given to me.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (8/274))
