Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Condemnation of Worldly Matters and Abstaining Thereby ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِ٠ِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) ٠َا لِي وَلِلدُّنْيَا إِنَّ٠َثَلِ الرَّاكِبِ رُفِعَتْ لَهُ شَجَرَةٌ فِي يَوْ٠ٍ صَائِفٍ فَقَالَ تَحْتَهَا ثُ٠َّ رَاحَ وَتَرَكَهَا.

My case with the world is like a traveler who finds a tree in his day of journey and uses its shadow for a short rest and then continues for the rest of his journey, leaving the tree behind.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (8/301))
