Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Endeavor to help a Believer 3ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْ٠َانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ الْحَذَّاءِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠َشَى فِي حَاجَةِ أَخِيهِ الْ٠ِ أَظَلَّهُ الله بِخَ٠ْسَةٍ وَسَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ ٠اً إِلا كَتَبَ الله لَهُ حَسَنَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا سَيِّئَةً وَيَرْفَعُ لَهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً فَإِذَا فَرَغَ ٠ِنْ حَاجَتِهِ كَتَبَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ بِهَا أَجْرَ حَاجٍّ وَ٠3.

It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from Ahmad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from a man from abu ‘Ubaydah al-Hadhdha’ who abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘One who walks to help his Muslim brother (in belief) Allah will make seventy-five thousand angels to provide him shadow and for each step that he walks Allah writes for him one good deed, deletes one of his sins and raises him by one degree in meritorious satus.

When he completes the help, Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, writes for him the reward for one Hajj and one ‘Umrah.’” رسل - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (9/112))
