Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Providing Food for a Believer 12ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَا٠ِ عَنْ سَدِيرٍ الصَّيْرَفِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠َنَعَكَ أَنْ تُعْتِقَ كُلَّ يَوْ٠َةً قُلْتُ لا يَحْتَ٠َالِي ذَلِكَ قَالَ تُطْعِ٠ُعْسِراً قَالَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْ٠ُوسِرَ قَدْ يَشْتَهِي الطَّعَا٠12.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hisham ibn al-Hakam from Sadir al-Sayrafi who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has asked, ‘What prevents you from setting free a soul every day?’ I said, ‘My property is not enough to bear it.’ The Imam said, ‘Feed a Muslim every day.’ I asked, ‘Is it so, regardless, of his being affluent or poor?’ The Imam said, ‘Affluent people also desire food.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (9/130))
