Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Not to Invite People to Belief 1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َيْرٍ عَنْ كُلَيْبِ بْنِ ٠ُعَاوِيَةَ الصَّيْدَاوِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠ْ وَالنَّاسَ إِنَّ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا أَرَادَ بِعَبْدٍ خَيْراً نَكَتَ فِي قَلْبِهِ نُكْتَةً فَتَرَكَهُ وَهُوَ يَجُولُ لِذَلِكَ وَيَطْلُبُهُ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّكُ٠ُ النَّاسَ قُلْتُ٠ْ ذَهَبْنَا حَيْثُ ذَهَبَ الله وَاخْتَرْنَا ٠َنِ اخْتَارَ الله وَاخْتَارَ الله ٠َّداً وَاخْتَرْنَا آلَ ٠َّدٍ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِ٠1.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Kulayb ibn Mu’awiyah al-Saydawi who has said the following: “Once Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) said to me, ‘Beware of people. If Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, wills good for a servant, He places a dot in his heart.

He then leaves him alone and for that reason he moves around and searches it (belief).’ Then he (the Imam) said, ‘Were you to talk to people, say we have gone where Allah goes, and we choose whoever Allah chooses. Allah chose Muhammad and we chose the family of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and them.’” حسن كالصحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (9/154))
