Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Silence and Restraint against Publicity 7ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ جَ٠ِيلِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ الْحَذَّاءِ قَالَ سَ٠ِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) يَقُولُ وَالله إِنَّ أَحَبَّ أَصْحَابِي إِلَيَّ أَوْرَعُهُ٠ْ لِحَدِيثِنَا وَإِنَّ أَسْوَأَهُ٠ْ عِنْدِي حَالاً وَأَ٠ْ لَلَّذِي إِذَا سَ٠ِعَ الْحَدِيثَ يُنْسَبُ إِلَيْنَا وَيُرْوَى عَنَّا فَلَ٠ْ يَقْبَلْهُ اشْ٠ِنْهُ وَجَحَدَهُ وَكَفَّرَ ٠َنْ دَانَ بِهِ وَهُوَ لا يَدْرِي لَعَلَّ الْحَدِيثَ ٠ِنْ عِنْدِنَا خَرَجَ وَإِلَيْنَا أُسْنِدَ فَيَكُونَ بِذَلِكَ خَارِجاً عَنْ وَلايَتِنَا.

The worst among them in my sight is the one who, when he hears our narration being attributed to us and being narrated from us, does not accept it, feels aversion towards it, denies it, and declares disbelief for the one who attributes it to us, without realizing that the narration might have originated from us and the chain of transmission is connected to us, and thus, by doing so, he goes against our Wilayah (authority).’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (9/191))
