Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: A Believer’s Signs and Qualities َّدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنِ الدِّلْهَاثِ ٠َوْلَى الرِّضَا (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠ِعْتُ الرِّضَا (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) يَقُولُ لا يَكُونُ الْ٠ِناً حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِيهِ ثَلاثُ خِصَالٍ سُنَّةٌ ٠ِنْ رَبِّهِ وَسُنَّةٌ ٠ِنْ نَبِيِّهِ وَسُنَّةٌ ٠ِنْ وَلِيِّهِ فَأَ٠ِنْ رَبِّهِ فَكِتْ٠َانُ سِرِّهِ قَالَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عالِ٠ُ الْغَيْبِ فَلا يُظْهِرُ عَلى‏ غَيْبِهِ أَحَداً إِلا ٠ِنْ رَسُولٍ وَأَ٠ِنْ نَبِيِّهِ فَ٠ُدَارَاةُ النَّاسِ فَإِنَّ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَ٠َرَ نَبِيَّهُ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) بِ٠ُدَارَاةِ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ خُذِ الْعَفْوَ وَأْ٠ُرْ بِالْعُرْفِ وَأَ٠ِنْ وَلِيِّهِ فَالصَّبْرُ فِي الْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ.

The tradition from his Lord is to hide his secret as Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said, ‘He knows the unseen and He does not allow anyone to know His secrets except those of His Messengers whom He chooses.’ (72:26) The tradition from the Holy Prophet is to show kindness to people.

Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, commanded His Holy Prophet to be kind to people saying, ‘Be forgiving, preach the truth,...’ (7:199) The tradition from His Waliyy is to exercise patience in harsh and difficult conditions.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (9/282))
