Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ هِشَا٠َالِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيهِ٠ُتَكَبِّرِ الْفَخُورِ الَّذِي كَانَ بِالأ٠َّ هُوَ غَداً جِيفَةٌ. 1.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Hassan ibn Mahbub from Hisham ibn Salim from abu Hamza al-Thumali who has said the following: “Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) has said, ‘It is astonishing how one who yesterday was only a sperm and tomorrow will turn into a carcass displays arrogance and boastfulness.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (10/286))
