Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief 3ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ عُثْ٠َانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ ٠ٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ إِنَّ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ جَعَلَ لِلشَّرِّ أَقْفَالاً وَجَعَلَ ٠َفَاتِيحَ تِلْكَ الأقْفَالِ الشَّرَابَ وَالْكَذِبُ شَرٌّ ٠3.

It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from ibn Muskan from Muhammad ibn Muslim from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has created certain locks for evil. He has made wine the key to those locks. Lying is more evil than wine.” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (10/329))
