Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from ibn Bukayr from âUbayd ibn Zurara who has said the following: âOnce I asked Abu âAbdillah (a.s.) about the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, âAnd whoever rejects belief, his work has become worthless...â (5:5) The Imam said, â It is one who abandons the deed he has affirmed (believed in.)â I then asked, âWhat is the extent of abandoning the deed?
Until he leaves it entirely?â The Imam said, âAmong them is the one who intentionally abandons prayer, not out of drunkenness or illness.ââ ÙØ«Ù ÙاÙصØÙØ - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (1/119))
