Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ ٠ُوسَى بْنِ بَكْرٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) الَّذِينَ خَلَطُوا عَ٠َلاً صالِحاً وَآخَرَ سَيِّئاً فَأُولَئِكَ قَوْ٠ِنُونَ يُحْدِثُونَ فِي إِي٠ِنَ الذُّنُوبِ الَّتِي يَعِيبُهَا الْ٠ِنُونَ وَيَكْرَهُونَهَا فَأُولَئِكَ عَسَى الله أَنْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِ٠2.

A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ali ibn Hassan from Musa ibn Bakr from a man who has said the following: “Once abu Ja’far (a.s.) said, ‘Those who have mixed good deeds with bad deeds’ are a believing people. They create in their belief such things, due to sins, that believing people censure and dislike.

They are as such that perhaps Allah may accept their repentance.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (11/216))
