Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Confessing Sins and Regret for it ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ أَبِي هَاشِ٠ٍ عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ الْعَابِدِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ إِنَّ الله يُحِبُّ الْعَبْدَ أَنْ يَطْلُبَ إِلَيْهِ فِي الْجُرْ٠ِ وَيُبْغِضُ الْعَبْدَ أَنْ يَسْتَخِفَّ بِالْجُرْ٠6.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from Muhammad ibn Ali from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn abu Hashim from ‘Anbasah al-‘Abid from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Allah loves that a servant asks Him for help in great crimes and He hates the servant who considers trivial sins insignificant.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (11/285))
