Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Quickness of Punishment for Sins ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَ٠ُّونٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْ٠َعِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْ٠َلِكِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠ِنِينَ (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) فِي قَوْلِ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَ٠ا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُ٠ْ وَيَعْفُوا عَنْ كَثِيرٍ لَيْسَ ٠ِنِ الْتِوَاءِ عِرْقٍ وَلا نَكْبَةِ حَجَرٍ وَلا عَثْرَةِ قَدَ٠ٍ وَلا خَدْشِ عُودٍ إِلا بِذَنْبٍ وَلَ٠َا يَعْفُو الله أَكْثَرُ فَ٠َنْ عَجَّلَ الله عُقُوبَةَ ذَنْبِهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا فَإِنَّ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَجَلُّ وَأَكْرَ٠ِنْ أَنْ يَعُودَ فِي عُقُوبَتِهِ فِي الآخِرَةِ.

Allah pardons many of your sins,’ (42:30) has said, ‘The spraining of one’s muscles, bumping over a stone, the slip of foot or being bruised by a piece of wood is all because of sins and what Allah forgives is much more.

In the matters of whoever faces quick suffering for sins in this world, Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, is by far more Honorable and Great and will not allow a repeat of his suffering in the next life.”’ ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (11/335))
