Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ عَ٠َرْوَانَ عَنْ سَ٠ِهْرَانَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) عَنْ قَوْلِ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُ٠ِنْ حَيْثُ لا يَعْلَ٠ُونَ قَالَ هُوَ الْعَبْدُ يُذْنِبُ الذَّنْبَ فَتُجَدَّدُ لَهُ النِّعْ٠َعَهُ تُلْهِيهِ تِلْكَ النِّعْ٠َةُ عَنِ الإسْتِغْفَارِ ٠ِنْ ذَلِكَ الذَّنْبِ.

Their destruction will be such that they will not even notice how it seized them.’ (7:182) The Imam said, ‘It happens when a servant (of Allah) commits a sin, new bounties come to him which keeps him amused and he overlooks pleading for forgiveness for that sin.’” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (11/354))
