A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from IsmaâIl ibn Mehran from Sayf ibn âAmirah from abu Ishaq from Abu âAbdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: â Al-Raghbah means keeping the palms of your hands toward the sky. Al-Rahbah means keeping the back of your hands toward the sky.
The words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, âglorify the name of your Lord, with due sincerity (al- Tabattul), â (73:8) ârefers to hand gestures made in prayer with one finger. Al-Tadarruâ is pointing and gesturing with two fingers, âIbtihal is raising both hands and stretching them up high when oneâs eyes tear up. It then is the time you should pray.ââ صØÙØ Ø¹Ù٠اÙظاÙر - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (2/41))
