Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi âUmayr from Murazim who has said the following: âAbu âAbd Allah (a.s.) has said, âOnce a man came to the Messenger of Allah and said, âO Messenger of Allah, I have assigned one third of my prayers for you.â The Messenger of Allah said, âThat is good.â He then said, âO Messenger of Allah, I have assigned half of my prayers for you.â The Messenger of Allah said, âThat is better.â He then said, âO the Messenger of Allah, I have assigned all of my prayers for you.â The Messenger of Allah said, âAllah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, will suffice you in all your needs in this world and in the next life.â A man then asked, âMay Allah grant you well being, how could he assign his prayer for him?â Abu âAbd Allah (a.s.) said, âHe would never pray and plead before Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, for help before asking from Allah favors for the Holy Prophet and his family.ââ
