Al-Kāfi - The Book of Supplication Chapter: Prayer Before Sleeping and After Waking Up ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ ٠ُونٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠ِنِينَ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) يَقُولُ الله٠َّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ ٠ِنْ سُوءِ الأحْلا٠ِ وَأَنْ يَلْعَبَ بِيَ الشَّيْطَانُ فِي الْيَقَظَةِ وَالْ٠5.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from his father from ‘Abd Allah ibn Maymun from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) would say, ‘O Lord, I seek protection with You against wet dreams and bad dreams and from Satan playing with me during my sleep or when awake.’” وثق كالصحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/295))
