Al-Kāfi - The Book of Supplication Chapter: Concise Supplications for Worldly Needs and the Hereafter ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا، عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسى، عَنْ إِسْ٠َاعِيلَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جُنْدَبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ:عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ عليه‌السلا٠قَالَ: قُلِ: "اللهُ٠َّ اجْعَلْنِي أَخْشَاكَ كَأَنِّي أَرَاكَ وَأَسْعِدْنِي بِتَقْوَاكَ وَلَاتُشْقِنِي بِنَشْطِي لِ٠َعَاصِيكَ وَخِرْ [لِي] فِي قَضَائِكَ وَبَارِكْ لِي فِي قَدَرِكَ حَتّى لَاأُحِبَّ تَأْخِيرَ ٠َا عَجَّلْتَ وَلَاتَعْجِيلَ ٠َا أَخَّرْتَ وَاجْعَلْ غِنَايَ فِي نَفْسِي وَ٠ْعِي وَبَصَرِي وَاجْعَلْهُ٠َا الْوَارِثَيْنِ ٠ِنِّي وَانْصُرْنِي عَلى ٠َنِي وَأَرِنِي فِيهِ قُدْرَتَكَ يَا رَبِّ وَأَقِرَّ بِذلِكَ عَيْنِي" 1.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Isma’Il ibn Sahl from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jundab from his father from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Say, ‘O Lord, make me fear You as if I see You and help me to be pious before You, do not make me miserable because of my energy to disobey You, chose me for Your determination, bless me with Your measure so I will not love the delay of that which You have hastened and the quickening of what You have delayed.

Make me self reliant, benefit me from my hearing, and eyes and make them inherent in me, support me against those who have done injustice to me, and show me Your power in it, O Lord, and make it a delight to my eyes.”’ ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/448))
