Al-Kāfi - The Book of the Excellence of the Holy Quran Chapter: Reading the Holy Quran from a Copy ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠َنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ فِي الْ٠ُتِّعَ بِبَصَرِهِ وَخُفِّفَ عَنْ وَالِدَيْهِ وَإِنْ كَانَا كَافِرَيْنِ. 1.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ya’qub ibn Yazid in a marfu’ manner from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “If one reads the Holy Quran from a copy, he benefits from his eyesight, and his parents receive relief even if they are unbelievers.” رفوع - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (2/498))
